Happy Movember my fit followers! This special month has become an important month for health awareness of the cancer kind. Men’s health in particular.
So I’d like to take a minute to talk about some of the super foods that may be linked to lowering the risk of cancer! Obviously these won’t be as effective if you are a smoker or consistently expose yourself to other carcinogens (ahem tanning beds ahem) but they can be combined with other healthy lifestyle choices to decrease your risk.
Let’s take a look:
The Best Foods
- Broccoli and other leafy greens -according to Health Magazine
- COFFEE -all the coffee lovers everywhere give me a fist pump!
- Also Green Tea *meh
- Whole Grains
- Red Wine- I’m in love
- Beans and Lentils
- Vitamin D- We’re talking fishy foods here. Not the deep fried kind.
And some of the WORST foods
- Processed meats
- Animal Fats
- “Diet” soda and “diet” or “low fat” foods that are loaded with chemicals you can’t pronounce on the label (Ex. Pyridoxine Hyrdochloride- found in Pop Tarts and sugary cereals).
Cancer is a wicked disease that becomes more prominent with the appearance of more and more processed and greasy foods made available in the grocery store and the millions of fast-food chains popping up everywhere. Never stop fighting for your right to live a happy healthy life.
